Regular activities and events

We love welcoming people and are often around in the café or gardens for a chat; you can also meet us as part of our many activities on site. These mostly take place in the downstairs Prayer Space (a lift is available).

Monday 2pm-3pm, Prayer Team meeting: Want to be one of those praying regularly for the work at Strawberry Field? Then visit us on Monday afternoons and share in this time together.

Tuesday 10.30am-12.30pm, Hopefulness Course (Six weeks): Each course aims to help participants to develop a hopefulness ‘toolkit’, including breathing and meditation techniques. We look at the sources of hopefulness and ways in which it may be encouraged and nurtured. The course runs as a rolling programme throughout the year. To find out more, contact Karen Carter at karen.carter@salvationarmy.org.uk

Wednesday Noon, Midweek Meditation: A 15-minute reflection, offering a time of reflection and the opportunity to ‘be still’.

Friday 10.30-11.30am, Ukulele Group:No previous experience needed. This is a group set up for anyone who wants to have a go and build friendships with like-minded people. Suggested donation of £2 per session.

Alternate Fridays 12noon-2pm, Love to Move: A fun, chair-based exercise session for older people and those living with dementia. Designed by the British Gymnastics Foundation, the movement-to-music programme offers a time to chat and be with others for the first hour before joining together for exercises. The current Love to Move dates are February 16; March 1, 15 and 29.

First Sunday of the Month, ‘The Gathering’:A time to get together and to explore a theme in creative ways as part of our aim to, ‘be an inclusive community with God at the centre. Welcoming all to connect, be still, create and grow’. The next Gathering (March 3) will run from 5.15pm-7pm in the Strawberry Field Café Space.

After the clocks go forward on Sunday, 31 March, the Gatherings will run from 6.15pm-8pm. The Spring/Summer dates are Sundays April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, and October 6.
