2020 'People of Peace' award winner

Sara May

Sara is a winner in our 2020 'People of Peace' awards.

An extract from Sara's nomination form said: "Sara is one of these people who really does have a heart of gold, she created a Facebook group a while back called "Everyone Matters", with 1.0K members. This lady does so much for people, she helps families who are struggling with food, clothes for their children, people who have fled domestic violence and need a fresh start with help with furniture, and sign posts people for other support."

"She does all kinds of things to raise money for our local charities that are finding it difficult during these times. She raises money for foodbanks across the region and even braved the shave to raise money. She is like a Super Woman and all this she does is a selfless act of kindness, hard work and determination to help everyone. She also suffers with her own health problems which she puts aside and fights through her pain to support others each and every day."

Charles Roberts says:

"Although this lady has her own health problems she supports a wide variety of charities and people in need. It appears that she is a 'Super Woman' as claimed, and there is no limit to her hard work, always determined to put others needs before her own. Sara is a very worthy inclusion in the People of Peace Awards."

"It’s a wonderful idea that The Salvation Army is going to cultivate youngsters in the precious soil of Strawberry Field."
