Young woman with Down’s syndrome takes on the 2.6 Challenge to raise funds for Strawberry Field

Lauren, 19, is taking on the 2.6 challenge by learning to ride her bike, so that she can complete 2.6 miles in aid of the Strawberry Field Steps to Work programme, run by The Salvation Army in Liverpool.

Strawberry Field Liverpool to feature in the upcoming Danny Boyle & Richard Curtis film, Yesterday

Strawberry Field, the iconic site immortalised in the Beatles hit, ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ will feature in the upcoming film ‘Yesterday’, by Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis. Written by Curtis and directed by Boyle, the movie follows Jack, played by Eastenders’ actor Himesh Patel, as he wakes from a freak accident to find no one else in the world remembers the songs made famous by The Beatles.
OUR Fresh Expressions Leader, Louise Brown, has been very busy, out and about in the local community, building relationships and finding out about all the great things happening in Woolton, Liverpool.
And, on particularly significant dates Louise and a team of volunteers have been at the gates of Strawberry Field, engaging with and chatting to people from all over the world.
Most recently this saw them handing out around 200 valentine’s cookies to visitors at the gates, in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
